IN CONVERSATION WITH DAVID KOMA
We caught up with the designer to find out more about his design aesthetic and what inspired his new season collection.
What inspired you for this collection?
I looked to 1950s elegance and the fusion between the decade’s soft curves and the rigid lines of twentieth century artist Heinz Mack. Combining his op and light art with the kicking flares of mid-century eveningwear, each piece tackles an old-school silhouette in an ultimately sporty way.
Who are your style icons past and present?
It's quite difficult as there are so many incredible women that I love. It’s more of a mix of different characters, I have always been inspired by a strong female figure, someone who is confident and happy in her life.
Describe your design aesthetic in three words.
Sculptural, playful and timeless.
