THE BEAUTY CABINET

No instagrammable coffee table would be complete without a Diptyque votive, now your bathroom shelfie is going to get a French makeover as these connoisseurs of the candlemaking world are now turning to skincare. Introducing L’Art du Soin, a sensory skincare and bodycare range eleven years in the making, conceived to be beneficial to the body, the soul and the planet. A natural evolution for this cult perfumery in more ways than one.

A STUDY IN TEXTURE

Exploration with texture was at the heart of this endeavour moving away from using mainly solid wax to lotions, balms and oils. This new range invites us to be present and enjoy little moments of our daily rituals through sensual texture experiences with surprising transformations upon contact with water or skin as oils turn to lotions and powders to foam. This tactile experience is beautifully demonstrated with their lotions, first creamy, then fluid when applied creating an immediate sensation of softness.

INFUSED COSMETICS

Already experts in the sensory benefits of plants, the rewards to the skin quickly became second nature. Harnessing both the aromatherapeutic and skincare benefits for a fully rounded self-care night-in. This was achieved by experimentation with the results of a gentle plant-extraction, from the fields of Diptyque's own perfumery. This method is inspired by an ancient technique used in perfumeries for generations to capture the fragrance of fragile flowers such as jasmine or rose by using vegetable oil to concentrate the scent. Fast-forward to modern-day and this technique is now intensified by energy activation technology supplied by a combination of microwaves and ultrasound. Best of all no chemical ingredients are needed, with natural active ingredient extracted through a combination of science and tradition.

A CLEARER FUTURE

As of May this year Diptyque have published their formulation character on their website for greater transparency in their process and have introduced many refillable glass bottles and votives to their ranges. A practice they intend to continue to work on to improve all their products recyclability.
