Trending Trainers

These trainers are well and truly at the top of our AW23 wish-lists. We’ve all seen our favourite fashion gurus clad in Adidas Sambas and New Balance 530s, but you might be wondering what the next up-and-coming, must-have, need-to-see styles are? Let us help. We’re here to break down the trainer trends for the season ahead.

Retro-core:

The ’70s Tennis Shoe

This trend is one that we just can’t get enough of. These vintage-inspired styles have been seen on celebs and trendsetters such as Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Think retro colourways, ‘70s casual-cool and look out for brands such as Adidas, LOEWE and Autry.

Shoes to watch: Adidas Samba OG, Gazelle & Handball styles, LOEWE Flow, Nike Cortez and Autry Medalist shoes.

Monochromatic Moments:

Life In Black & White

This shoe trend is especially easy to incorporate into your wardrobe, but don’t let its simplicity underwhelm you. By pairing bold blacks with clean white lines, these shoes are amazingly versatile while still being of the moment. When we think of this trend, we think of Nike’s now iconic Panda colourways.

Shoes to watch: Converse, Nike Air Jordans, New Balance 550s and 327s.

Heavy Duty:

Functional Beauty

This trend has been around for a while now, but the new season iteration leans into what is sometimes referred to as “gorp-core”. Gorp-core essentially refers to the recent move towards functional, outdoorsy styles and brands and embracing them in a more fashion-forward way. This trend sees thick soles and styles that previously would have been considered functional over fashionable.

Shoes to watch: New Balance 530s and 9060s, Axel Arigato Marathon Trainers and Asics Gel 1130s
