The word Nunaïa means soul tribe and this brand naturally flows from a deep sense of inner balance, well-being and connection; empowering every woman to celebrate their individual authentic beauty. Nicola Connolly founded her sustainable skincare brand Nunaïa on based upon her “Beauty Within” philosophy.

The brand’s origins stem from Nicola’s journey of self-discovery. After travelling to the Galapagos Islands, Nicola’s three-week holiday turned in to a life-changing twelve-year experience across both Ecuador and Peru resulting in the formation of Nunaïa Beauty.

During this time, Nicola’s biggest discovery was learning about the power and magic of nature and how plants have an incredible ability to heal and nurture us. Nunaïa represents Nicola’s vision of fostering a connection and well-being by nurturing self, people, planet and communities through skincare rituals.

Nunaïa’s best-selling and award-winning Nourishing Radiance Serum Ritual is adored by industry experts and skincare devotees alike. Nicola tells us “It’s packed with 13 of the world’s most bio-active ingredients including plant-based retinol, vitamin C and vitamin E”. This super serum has three benefits to Moisturises, Protects and Restores skin and should be used morning and at night after Nunaïa’s Superfood cleansing balm and before moisturising.

Asked about her own daily skincare and self-care rituals, Nicola recommends taking “fifteen minutes at the end of each day for a mindful skincare ritual. It makes me feel I am nourishing and caring for my skin but it’s also a mindfulness ritual that helps me to ground, re-set after a busy day and wind-down for a good night’s sleep.” On her bedside locker right now is a book called “Women who run with the wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, “I’ve had this book on my bedside table for over a decade and love dipping in and out.”

You may be familiar with the farm-to-fork philosophy but have you heard about soil-to-skin? “We believe no-one and nothing should suffer from what you put on your skin, so we have created a highly transparent and sustainable 360° supply chain where people and planet come first” Nicola proudly tells us. Being balanced during a global pandemic is not easy but Nicola has found that “The slower pace has allowed us to put in perspective what’s important to us and how we want to live our lives more as we consciously moving forward.” Nicola also launched a gentle hand sanitiser that smells of Lavender and Tea Tree containing WHO recommends 70% isopropyl alcohol but which is gentle enough to provide a welcome relief to sensitive hands.
