4 Simple Steps To Claiming A Tax Refund:
1. Complete the Tax Free Form
The tax free form already shows the value of your purchase and your refund. It is very important that you fully complete this form with the following in English before returning it to Planet:
- Your name
- Your home address
- Your passport number
- The date you arrived in the EU
- The date you are departing from the EU
- Your own credit card number or alipay account that the refund will be paid to
- Your signature
Please ensure to return your completed form to Planet within 3 months.
2. Get Customs Approval
All Tax Free refunds have to be approved by customs.
If your Tax Free form has a sales value between €75 and €1,999.99 then the process is very simple. All up
have to do is return your completed tax free form to planet at the airport and they will take care of the
custom’s process on your behalf. If your tax free form has a sales value of €2,000 or above then you
must receive an eu custom’s stamp on departure. At Irish airports, customs can be contacted by simply
picking up the customs courtesy phone which is located next to the planet desk in the Departures Lounge. A
customs official will come to you. Please have the item available for inspection along with your completed
Tax Free form, the original sales receipt, and the payment method you used to purchase the item, e.g. your
credit card.
In other EU Airports the Customs or VAT Refund desk will be clearly signposted. Planet customer service
agents in Dublin and Shannon Airports are always happy to assist you with your Tax Free form and customs.
The process at the airport is very simple however please ensure to arrive a little earlier than usual,
especially if you require customs stamping.
3. Return Tax Free Form
Return your fully completed Tax Free form with your credit card or alipay details to receive the refund. In Ireland shoppers can return their forms to the Planet Tax Free desk in Shannon and Dublin airports. There are also Planet drop-off locations in Cork, Ireland West and all other regional airports.

British Residents
Eligibility
Residents in England, Scotland and Wales are eligible to shop Tax Free in Ireland. This also includes Irish nationals living permanently in Great Britain. Residents from Northern Ireland are not eligible to shop Tax Free.
Tax Free Shopping Limits
British residents can only shop Tax Free between €75 and their Import Duty Allowance of £390 (or Euro equivalent). For sales above their Import Duty Allowance, GB VAT and import duties must be paid which would outweigh the refund value.
Customs Approval
All refunds are subject to Customs approval.
Tax Free forms within GB Import Duty allowance of £390 (or Euro equivalent) can be returned fully completed to Planet at the airport on departure. Planet will take care of the Custom’s process on your behalf.
If your Tax Free form is above GB Import duty allowance of €390 ( or Euro equivalent), but below €1,999.99, you must pay GB VAT and import duties and provide proof of same before submitting your form to Planet. It is likely that the GB VAT and import duties would outweigh the value of the refund.
If your Tax Free form is above €2,000, you must present your form to EU Customs for stamping on departure and also pay GB VAT and import duties, providing proof of same before submitting your form to Planet. It is likely that the GB VAT and import duties would outweigh the value of the refund.
GB VAT and import duties can be paid at www.gov.uk/bringing-goods-into-uk-personal-use/declaring-goods.
