Creators of the IT dress season after season since their launch in 2015, Rixo is coveted by the chicest A-listers and most-followable Instagrammers alike including Margot Robbie, Laura Jackson and Lucy Williams to name but a few. Scroll down to see how this young designer is passing her time under lockdown…

Where does your style inspiration come from?
A true hippy at heart Orlagh answers “Rixo is always inspired by vintage, the 1960s and 1970s are my favourite decade for colour and print. For our SS20 collection, Back to the Garden, we created the Woodstock print after the famous festival.”
If you had to distil your signature style into one item of clothing what would it be?
It would have to be the Zadie! The Marie has also become a staple for me - I love all the details in this dress from the neckline and the ruched body to the billowing sleeves, which all make you feel so special.
Have you made any home improvements?
Like most of us during lockdown Orlagh has been making the most of her space are trying out new interior layouts “I have been moving furniture around and working on creating a fluid space whilst working from home. Amongst all the madness, I have managed to move to a new house. I’m feeling very lucky this has gone ahead as I know a lot of people have had to put things on pause.”
Orlagh’s favourite new corner for mediation and creative flow.
How are you unwinding in your new home these days?
Orlagh answers without hesitation, “Meditation” continuing, “It has been a lifeline for me whilst being at home. It is so important to designate some time to yourself during these stressful and strange times. It is a half an hour of calm for me to reset and regroup ahead of my working day.
What else gets your creative juices flowing from home?
“Moving to a flat with a garden means I have my own outdoor space.” Speaking about nature Orlagh says “it’s so easy to get creative juices flowing in these types of surroundings and I’ve made the outdoor space almost like an indoor space with lots of floor cushions and an antique mirror. I’ve been spending a lot of time here fitting garments and developing new prints for the upcoming season. I’m obsessed with improving fit and making women of all shape feel their best in our clothes.”
Some of the things brightening Orlagh’s day, tapas, pattern cutting, and bike rides.
What are you doing for fun during lockdown?
Talking about her renewed love Orlagh admits “I’ve been spending a lot of time in the kitchen, trying out new recipes and being a lot more adventurous with what I can find in the supermarkets to create tapas style dinners to enjoy.” When asked if one recipe stands out Orlagh says “every day I have been making a smoothie, I love Stylist Angie Smith (@angiesmithstyle) chocolate fraud shake – it’s delicious!”

Have you any WFH wardrobe tips?
Orlagh starts “comfort is key!” continuing “it’s dressing for the mood you are in or would like to be in and be flexible with that. My favourite dress from the SS20 collection is the Tamara, it makes me feel instantly happy when I wear it. On other days, I might be looking for something more relaxed and comforting whilst I’m moving around and pattern cutting at home so would wear the Camellia.”

Where is top of your to re-visit list?
Dreaming of her next getaway Orlagh choose “Ibiza!” elaborating, “its both Henrietta’s and my favourite destination, we travel there every summer and head straight to the flea markets and hippy fairs. When asked where they stay Orlagh replied “last year we were part of the Atzaró Hotel’s 15th Year Anniversary Fashion Show and we can’t wait to go back. The hotel was originally an orange farm and the buildings itself are around 300 years old. It’s the most beautiful setting and is going to be the perfect place to escape to once this is all over.”
