- We want you to enjoy your Waterford product for many years to come, so we advise washing crystal items separately in warm soapy water, rinsing thoroughly and drying with a lint-free cloth. As a dishwasher can dull and damage your crystal over time, we recommend hand-washing. With stemware items, please take care not to twist the bowl in the opposite direction to the stem when drying as this may cause damage. The finely made rims are the most fragile part of your crystal glass so we recommend stacking glassware upright when storing to help avoid any impact on the rims. As extreme changes of temperature risk damaging the crystal, cold or warm liquids should only be added to a glass that is at room temperature. Where adding warm liquids to crystal we also advise use of a metal spoon in the glass to help dissipate heat. Boiling liquids are not advised for use in crystal at any time to prevent breakages.
