The Art of Coffee at Home
Good coffee is a true art-form, designed to get us through every early morning and 3pm slump. Here's the best way to make coffee at home
Rise and Grind
Any coffee-lover worth their salt will tell you that one of the most important things is to know your beans. Higher quality whole beans, such as arabica beans, can be ground at home to release the freshest flavour. Different types of beans have different flavours and different levels of acidity; try a few out, find one to your taste and invest in the best.
Make It Your Own
Longing for a vanilla iced latte as the sun starts to show its face? Making your own vanilla syrup is surprisingly easy, and particularly satisfying. Combine one cup sugar and one cup of water. Bring to the boil, simmer for 5-10 minutes until reduced, and remove from heat. Stir in a tablespoon of vanilla syrup and pour into a clean jar for later use.
Let's Take A Coffee Break
One of the most important things to remember when making coffee at home, is patience. A high quality cup of coffee takes time, be it remembering to filter your water before use, or selecting the right beans and grinding the right quantity. Take your time, be patient and enjoy the art of coffee making.
