Acne Studios

About: Stockholm-based Acne might be famed for its Scandi-cool creations, but did you know about its sustainability credentials? The label – which is loved by Katie Holmes, Rihanna and Katy Perry – is a leading member of the Fair Wear Foundation, a non-profit that improves conditions for workers in garment factories. What’s more, over 90 per cent of the cotton used for Acne’s jersey, fleece and denim pieces is organically grown.

Key piece: Summer dressing at Acne is all about elevated basics: from crease-front shorts in shades of butter yellow and slim, crop-leg flares in classic black to a boxy T-shirt that you’ll wear on repeat. The look is minimal – and the pieces are forever.

Otiumberg

About: Designed to be worn – and loved – for a lifetime, an elegant piece by Otiumberg has a light footprint on the earth. Founded by sisters Rosanna and Christie Wollenberg in 2016 (the duo have a shared love of hoops and dainty, huggie earrings), the label’s demi-fine jewellery pieces are crafted from recycled sterling silver, 9 karat gold and gold vermeil that’s 100 per cent certified.

The trainer brand that’s loved by Victoria Beckham, Meghan Markle and Emma Watson is B-Corp Certified, a gold star in the fashion industry that denotes it has the highest standards of social and environmental performance. The French brand pledges a commitment to care, championing one hundred per cent organic cotton throughout its collections. (Meaning, the cotton is grown without the use of pesticides and other chemicals.) Meanwhile, the brand’s denim – see the chic Pramo Flared Jeans – uses a reduced amount of water, fewer chemicals and less energy.

Key piece: It’s a summer of romance at Maje: whimsical colours, broderie anglaise fabrics and feminine shapes collide. About: As low-impact materials become popular, underwear label Stripe + Stare goes one step further, planting a tree with every purchase. What’s more, all Stripe + Stare underwear – which is made from Tencel, a fabric sourced from wood pulp – can be composted. See the brand’s motto, “Designed in London. Grown in a forest. Composted in your garden.” A welcome fact, seeing as only two per cent of underwear globally is sustainably-made.
