Here’s our chat with Kate…
On why she started COSMOSS…
“COSMOSS started as a mindful practice. I was at a period in my life where I needed protection as I am quite an open, sensitive person. I was drawn to essential oils and plants like oakmoss which is a natural protector and has a woody scent. Then I looked at tonka bean which is magic and then geranium, an oil which uplifts you and feels more light. I found I could suddenly breathe and felt grounded when I introduced these into my routine and I wanted to share this with everyone.”
On her garden…
“I got really into my Cotswolds garden during the pandemic by potting and growing flowers. I’ve plans to plant a wildflower meadow too. I have 12 acres where I want to create an ecosystem for the garden to rewild the land. The dream is to sit amongst all the bees and the butterflies, in a bath, in my wildflower meadow.”
On her COSMOSS morning ritual…
“I start the day by making the Dawn Tea first, and I drink it slowly. Next, I apply the Face Cream and put Golden Nectar Face Oil through my hair as I find it very nourishing, the oil is very pure, not heavy and sinks beautifully. Once I have done this I might then have a cheeky coffee!”

“We made the recipe for the teas at my house, we got lots and lots of different samples of leaves and herbs and created it all in my kitchen. My family all got involved and gave their opinion and we developed the blend from there.”

“I always put Sacred Mist on before a meditation, so I feel fresh, clean and moisturised. I meditate every day, it's very important to me as it helps me to rebalance.”
On her mindfulness practices…
“I try to mindfully be in the present moment and to tune into what my body needs. My garden has taught me to be present in my surroundings. I recently found my favourite flower Lily of the Valley in my garden in a secret spot. It was such a joy, they are so perfect and were part of my wedding bouquet. A friend of mine, James Stopforth captured them for me in an amazing photograph. I love discovering new flowers and the traditions behind them too.”
On her daughter Lila and her mum’s favourite COSMOSS product…

On wild swimming spots…
“There’s a field near my house with a natural pond and a willow tree that I love swimming in. Now, I’m in Dublin. I might try to go for a swim here, I love a bit of natural beauty. I think it's good for the soul.”

“To stay grounded, to not believe the hype, and to never lose yourself.”

That's what I loved, it was my dream, picking, foraging and making things from the garden.
