HOW TO STYLE A VIRTUAL GATHERING?
With the nation on lockdown, many of us will be unable to entertain as normal in our homes, but there's nothing stopping us all from creating a beautiful table and sharing it virtually. Here's our guide to preparing your gathering and ideas your virtual guests are certain to enjoy...
TIP 1 - CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE
Just as with a regular dinner party, put some thought into your lighting and table setting. If you’re going to be having a Zoom or Google Duo gathering, you’re going to need a lot more light so that people can see what’s going on so make sure you have lamps in position. Setting the tone and the mood with candles is always a great way to create an instant atmosphere, we love these cool candlesticks by Urban Nature Culture summery yellow hues
TIP 2 - START WITH A SUMMERY COCKTAIL
Nothing gets a gathering started more than a cool cocktail. If the sun is shining why not create a refreshing cocktail and sip it on your balcony, in your back garden or beside your windowsill? You can share the recipe so your virtual guests can join.
TIP 3 - BRING OUT THE BEST DINNERWARE
There's no time like the present to bring out your favourite dinnerware, laying the table properly gives your meal a festive feel. Why not mix and match different colourways and textures to build up the look?
TIP 4 - ENJOY A LE CREUSET RECIPE
Why not treat your loved ones to a delicious lamb dish, all served in a beautiful Le Creuset dish, or get inspired from our selection for your next dinner party.
TIP 5 - GET CREATIVE WITH FLOWERS
Now is the time to create your own floral centrepieces, use vases that have unusual shapes and layer single blooms in vases or glasses. Why not select flowers from your garden, or snip some greenery to add a fresh twist to your table?
TIP 6 - MAKE THE MOST OF FREEZER INGREDIENTS
There’s more than likely things you have stored in the freezer you can pull out for meals. Frozen fruit for example is just the thing to add to a dessert or to decorate a cake.
TIP 7 - MAKE CHOCOLATE DESSERT
No virtual gathering should be without chocolate treats. We love Irish chocolatiers Bean & Goose and Skelligs delectable cocoa offerings. The perfect chocolately finish.
