THE EARTH POLO
Yes, you read that correctly, each shirt is made entirely from threads derived from recycled plastic bottles. It's dyed in an innovative water-less process. True to form, Ralph Lauren, are fighting back against pollution by reinventing the production process of one of fashion's most iconic shirts in four colourways; white, navy, light blue (and unsurprisingly) green.

When Ralph founded our company more than 50 years ago, he did so with the idea that whatever we create is meant to be worn, loved, and passed on for generations. It’s with this spirit of timelessness that we approach sustainability.

Halide Algaoz, Executive Vice President, Ralph Lauren.

Ralph Lauren have committed to removing at least 170 million bottles from landfills and oceans by 2025.

FIRST MILE
The Earth Polo was produced in partnership with First Mile. Founder Ian Rosenberger came up with the idea while doing relief work in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010. Here he saw beaches lined with discarded plastic and was inspired to come up with a way to turn this waste into income for the local community.

To date First Mile has shipped over 90,000kg of recycled plastic for the production of fabric.

Plastic waste is a major issue threatening the environment. We want to be part of the solution and utilize an innovative approach to create something valuable.

David Lauren, Chief Innovation Officer.

The Earth Polo is the perfect present or self-gift for the conscious consumer…
