Amanda Harrington started her career as a Makeup and Body Artist, sculpting and transforming bodies by painting and contouring on film sets and editorial shoots. After 15 years of tanning experience she has now launched her first collection of self-tanning products.
1. Try my 3-step method
The Amanda Harrington 3 Step Tanning method is to Prep, Colour and Contour.
Step 1: Prep your skin with my primer, this is a gradual tan which creates a hydrated base for the tan and adds depth in colour.
Step 2: Colour your skin with either the Face Mist or Body Mousse, these come in Natural Rose, Natural Honey or Natural Olive. These skin tones are designed to work with and enhance your natural skin tone to create a more believable colour that reflects how your skin would tan naturally in the sun!
Step 3: Contour your the curves of your body using my trademarked tanning brushes. I never felt I could get the precise level of control I required with my clients with a spray gun or a mitt. I spent 11 years developing my range of brushes to buff, blend and contour your tan to perfection.

3. Ensure you are streak-free by...
Achieving a streak-free finish on these parts of the body can often be tricky. Especially when historically we used to use a mitt to get into the creases on our knuckles, in between our fingers, and around our ankles/wrists! Buff the product into the skin with a Big Body Brush to evenly distribute the tan across the full areas of your hands and feet. This will minimize streaks, patching or tan collecting in those areas. By buffing the tan into the skin you are working it deeper into the epidermis to the tan will last longer and fade more naturally.

4. The best time to apply self tan is in the evening
I think if you are doing a full body tan then it makes most sense to apply this in the evening to give it the full time to develop overnight. By using the brushes this buffs the tan into the skin meaning it won’t transfer onto your bed sheets.
5. You can remove your tan with a scrub
The best way to remove tan is with my New Skin Body Glycolic Body Scrub. This will remove your tan and leave your skin feeling smooth without feeling dehydrated.

6. Consider sustainability
Sustainability was front and centre of my mind when I started my brand I made sure my tan and skincare products were vegan. My New Skin Face pads are made from bamboo so they are biodegradable and my New Skin Body Scrub contains castor beads which are also biodegradable.

7. Make your tan last longer by...
The key to my method is layering the products because layering makes it last! Follow the 3-step application, the primer adds a base of hydration to the skin but also contains a small percentage of tan to create a deeper more even base. Layering colour using the Mousse or Mist in the 3 tailor-made tan tints contain cosmeceutical skincare ingredients like hyaluronic acid and collagen which help to keep your tan for longer.
