TOP BEAUTY TRENDS FOR 2021
2020 was year that changed everything, with the focus switching to at-home beauty trends to Zoom party makeup looks, but what trends are we forecasting for 2021? We gathered the thoughts and insights from our buyers and beauty experts to help shine a light on what our beauty routines will like for the seasons ahead. Here are the top five...

1. Sustainable Beauty: Buying less but buying better
The sustainable beauty movement has been growing at pace for the last few years, over 2020 it has accelerated and has become more important than ever. As we continue to look after our physical and mental wellbeing (during numerous lockdowns) our thoughts and attentions are also turned towards caring for our planet. So many brands are finding ways to encourage us to take moments for self-care, mind our bodies and use environmentally friendly products. People will be buying less but buying better this year focusing on more buys with high impact results, brands leading the way are Sunday Riley, Kiehls, Omorovicza, Kate Somerville and Eve Lom who have great sustainable and skincare credentials.

2. Allowing Natural Beauty To Shine Through
Working from home has completely changed our skincare and makeup routines. This break away from the norm has given us time to really think about our skin, at times it even offered the opportunity to work face masks during the day! As a result, when we do wear makeup it can feel too heavy, with lighter foundations and formulas seeming more appropriate. For others with more problematic skin and who still love foundation, the trend has moved to a more minimal look. We foresee barely there makeup being something you will all want to replicate for 2021. Beautiful brands who champion a natural base include Westman Atelier, Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier and Nars.

3. Hair wellness
Keeping our lockdown locks in check has been a challenge over the past year with restrictions around visiting those all-important hair salon appointments, this has meant we had to take our haircare into own hands. However, this change still serves us well, demand for great haircare which gets the most out of our colour, protects strands from heat styling and treats split ends has increased overnight and we see this continuing for 2021. The must-haves of the moment come from the holy grail of hair brands from Olaplex and Moroccan Oil who are known and loved for their nourishing at-home treatments that offer incredible results. While much-loved haircare heroes from Aveda and Bumble & Bumble continue to be go-tos for damage repair and quick fixes on the go.

4. Scents of Escapism
As our home environments have become multi-purpose spaces where we are working, exercising and dining in the same spaces, candles and personal fragrance have become more important. Candles can transform and enrich your day due to their incredible mood boosting abilities, transporting you through your senses to another place and time.
