Like many aspects of shopping sustainably, finding a planet-friendly fragrance can be a minefield. But thanks to the growing number of eco-conscious consumers, fragrances with a sustainable edge are on the rise and a new breed of brands are proving that green credentials and quality fragrance needn’t be mutually exclusive.
Ethically-sourced ingredients, eco-conscious packaging, and creating a social impact are all factors that contribute to a fragrance's sustainability credentials. Forward-thinking companies are looking for new ways to reduce waste further with recycled and recyclable materials, compostable boxes, and refillable options. Offering refills are Le Labo; Memo, Tom Ford, Dior and Kilian.
The values and ethics behind some of our favourite brands are also important to note if you want to ensure you shop sustainably. Le Labo and Sol de Janeiro are certified Cruelty Free by PETA, therefore none of their products, or product's ingredients have been tested on animals; and do so without the compromising the quality of their fragrances.
