THE LUXE LANE
Looking for something truly special? Welcome to the Ground Floor of Brown Thomas Dublin – home to the best luxury brands in the world where you’ll find the ultimate designer finishing touches.
“Accessories are what makes or marks a woman,” Coco Chanel once famously said. Something tells us she would have approved of the newly renovated and updated ground floor of Brown Thomas Dublin, home to some of the finest luxury accessories in the world.
Recent renovations have seen the Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Celine and Tiffany & Co boutiques be joined by newly renovated Prada, Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent boutiques. As well as the exciting addition of Dior and an exclusive pop up from Bvlgari. This powerful blend of some of the finest brands in the world means the Dublin store now has everything you could possibly need. Boasting the very best in luxury accessories from new season handbags and designer sunglasses to belts, jewellery and silk scarves, here you’ll discover the ultimate designer finishing touch.
“We’ve seen a shift towards more thoughtful shopping with a focus on sustainability, versatility, and longevity. So the idea of investing in one key accessory rather than a ton of random purchases can be appealing,” says Fashion Director Shelly Corkery. “Our customers are looking for very special items that they don’t have in their closet, something new to add statement to their everyday dressing. The Accessories Boutiques also offers an opportunity for discovery and experience with some of the leading brands in the world. Now, you can enjoy all of this under the one roof at Brown Thomas Dublin.”
While each boutique offers something truly special, the addition of Dior is an Irish first. Historically, Ireland inspired several haute couture pieces by Christian Dior, including a green velvet evening gown from 1951 and, of course, it was an Irishwoman, Harper’s Bazaar editor Carmel Snow, who christened his famous 1947 collection as the ‘New Look’. But Dior had never had a retail presence in the country, until now.
"Dior had been the 'missing link' in our designer line-up and the Dior boutique will now sit alongside many luxury brands like Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton boutiques in an elegant and contemporary space on Wicklow Street /corner of Grafton street.” This contemporary, elegant space presents the House’s emblematic accessories, notably scarves, belts and glasses from the Dior 2022 Cruise collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri – key pieces that complete the silhouette with a unique style.
“Dublin has always punched above its weight in terms of the international brands we offer, alongside our own home-grown Irish labels, but this is the first time we’ve ever seen this level of brands invest in Ireland,” says Corkery. “We can’t wait to welcome customers in to experience the boutique for themselves.”
For those yet to venture back in store, the new luxury accessories boutique offers a world of discovery. “For me, luxury is less about price but quality, and also having an emotional connection. It’s in the touch of an exquisite fabric, the confidence that a beautifully cut piece gives you season after season or the pleasure in passing a piece on to a son or daughter. Luxury is wholly subjective but it should always deliver joy.”
