INSIDE A FASHION WEEK WARDROBE
We caught up with our fashion director Shelly Corkery before she hit New York, London, Milan and Paris to find out more about the most stylish, buzz-worthy pieces she will be wearing both on and off-schedule.
1. THE HERO PIECE
I am loving Prada for colour this season, from their sunset hues of red and yellow to vibrant burnt orange – colour is important for the season ahead but in a sophisticated way, which Prada captures perfectly. My hero piece would have to be the magnificent yellow and red look from their SS23 runway show, a key piece for this season, and I cannot wait to see their runway show at MFW next week.
2. THE KEY ACCESSORIES
I love this Bottega Veneta Plisse leather cross body bag, the green colour is slightly different from the brand’s signature bright green from previous seasons, and I just love their intrecciato leather weave.
One of my most favourite bags of the season has to be Saint Laurent’s ‘Cassandra’ box bag. I just love the elegance of the top handle finished with the gold-tone hardware YSL monogram.
3. THE ELEVATED ESSENTIAL
Cargo denims are for sure an essential in my fashion week wardrobe, and equally are a very important trend for the season ahead. I just adore my Celine Wesley oversized denims; they are key for elevating any look and are a perfect on-the-go piece during my hectic fashion week schedule. I also love the Isabel Marant oversized cargo denims, a transitional spring into summer staple that will be arriving in store very soon.
4. THE BUZZ BRAND
I just adore Saint Laurent for SS23, from exquisite tailoring to luxurious leather, it was one of my most favourite collections of the season. It is always a show I really look forward to attending in Paris, as it is staged in an almost dream-like Parisian setting overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
