THE MEN BEHIND THE BRANDS
Behind the coolest brands lies an even cooler man. From Mike Amiri of Amiri to Demna Gvaslia of Balenciaga, we have rounded up our top three to highlight the men behind the brands of the moment.
BALENCIAGA
The Man: Demna Gvasalia, the man behind Balenciaga, is a force to be reckoned with. His ‘hyper-real’ designs for the brand continue to put them at the forefront of street-influenced style. The secret? Perhaps it’s how Demna plugs into the zeitgeist – from his politically charged logos to ‘dadcore’ style trainers.
The Look: Demna has blazed a trail with his aforementioned trainers and trademark look for Balenciaga, he’s the antithesis of French fashion but he is happy to be fashion’s disruptive force.
Seen on: A$AP Rocky and James Harden.
He says: "I don’t think elegance is relevant..."

AMIRI
The Man: Starting from humble beginnings in a basement, former Korean hip-hop songwriter Mike Amiri launched his brand in 2013 as an homage to the rebellious spirit of his native California.
The Brand: Capturing the grunge style of 1990s Los Angeles.
Seen on: The-Weeknd and Justin Bieber.
He says: "At the end of the day, when I make clothes, my main motivation is to make people feel good."

BURBERRY
The Man: Riccardo Tisci, the man best known for his high octane glamour at Givenchy, brings streetwear and a touch of goth to the fore for Burberry.
The Brand: Following suit from his successes at Givenchy, Riccardo Tisci brings a distinctly streetwear vibe to Burberry. His debut collection works looser silhouettes and street style-worthy prints from deer prints, to signature Tisci graphics.
Seen on: Ezra Miller and Matt Smith.
He says: "I was inspired by how much London – the city that made me dream to become a designer – has evolved. This show is a celebration of the cultures, the traditions and the codes of this historic fashion house and of the eclecticism that makes up the beautifully diverse United Kingdom. "
