Not many businesses can trace back their lineage to the 15th century, in fact, Rathbornes candles is Ireland's oldest company. Opening its doors on Winetavern Street, Dublin in 1488 by John G Rathborne, they remained a vital local resource lighting the street-lamps and lighthouses across the city from the 1630s. Remaining true to their historical heritage and traditional craftsmanship, their beeswax candles are still hand-poured today in small batches.
