Having worked in the beauty industry for just shy of two decades, it’s safe to say Aidan is somewhat of a beauty guru. With experience in all realms of beauty from editorial and bridal to education and TV & Film, Aidan has worked with some of the biggest beauty brands including MAC and Charlotte Tilbury. Passionate about helping people achieve their own personal beauty goals, Aidan is a firm believer that “makeup is all about enhancing your natural beauty, celebrating it rather than masking it.”

“For Summer 2023, it’s all about the eyes!” says Aidan. “Eyeliner is such a huge focus for this season and bright, neon shades are dominating the catwalks so this look really merges the two together. It’s chic, very now yet very classically beautiful at the same time.” While the vibrant pink eyeliner is certainly the showstopper of the look, the skin shouldn’t be overlooked. “It’s almost like invisible makeup!” explains Aidan. “It’s luminous; it’s fresh; it’s clean; it’s healthy. The skin is artfully blended, you can’t see where one product begins and the other ends. This really helps support the vibrancy of the eyes and make them the focal point.”

When attempting a bold eyeliner look such as this, you might be inclined to think the execution of the eyeliner would be the tricky part but in actual fact, it’s the complexion that needs your focus. “You really need to pay attention to the balance of the look,” explains Aidan. “If you’re going to have a sharp focus on the eye, the rest of the skin and makeup should balance into it. Everything can’t be shouting for attention so let the eyes be the standout and allow the rest to blend beautifully into the background.”

Having qualified as a beauty and body therapist and reflexologist at just eighteen, Elena’s love for beauty has only grown over the years alongside her expertise. Now a decade later, Elena has painted the faces of some of Ireland’s biggest celebrities. Although her true love lies in skincare, Elena has become somewhat famous for her signature smokey cat eye so much so that it’s been coined the ‘Elena Eye’. “I just love a well-blended smokey eye,” she says. “It elevates any makeup look and really opens the eyes.”

“Nothing says summer like shades of coral!” says Elena. And while you may have reserved this shade for subtle eyeshadow or a hint of blush, coral is set to become the new red lip. With a wide range of shades from light peaches to richer pinks and paler reds, there’s a coral shade to match any skin tone. “Coral is such a vibrant, fun and chic shade,” explains Elena. “This specific shade I used for this look reminded me of a beautiful, vibrant poppy. This is a colour you’re going to be seeing a lot of this summer and what a beautiful and easy way to add a pop of colour to any look!”

Admittedly a daunting look to recreate, Elena assures us that a bright, bold coral lip is nothing to be afraid of. “All you need is a good lip liner and some lip balm,” explains Elena. “The lip liner will be key to ensuring the colour lasts but it will also help in perfectly defining your lips. A good lip balm is crucial when creating a bright bold lip such as this. Simply apply beforehand and this will ensure your lips are well-prepped for a smooth and fuss-free application.”

Clean, fresh and modern are just three words you could use to describe the exquisite work of Thomas. His love for beauty comes from how it can make you feel and believes “makeup is all about helping you feel the best version of yourself.” Having started his beauty career in Brown Thomas working as a makeup artist for Bobbi Brown, Thomas has most recently joined the Beauty Style Team in our Dundrum store. He has since become known for his transformative complexion techniques helping customers achieve that enviable flawless finish.

“Skin is always in, no matter the season,” says Thomas. Whether you refer to it as ‘no-makeup-makeup’, ‘clean’ or just natural beauty, the concept of a fresh low-maintenance glow is as timeless and classic as a little black dress. “The minimalistic look is definitely here to stay,” adds Thomas. “It’s quick, easy, and great when you just want to look like you and get a boost of confidence.” Although the complexion should look ridiculously radiant and decadently dewy, Thomas points out the importance of skin-like texture. “It’s important to not hide away from the skin’s natural texture when recreating this look, you want to achieve a your-skin-but-better type of vibe.”

It should come as no surprise that the key to a glowing complexion lies in skincare. “I love to start with the perfect base,” explains Thomas. “Whatever that might be for your skin type, I love the Sunday Riley CEO Afterglow Vitamin C moisturiser. It’s anti-ageing, anti-pore and brightening, so it really does all the hard work for you. It’s also loaded with vitamins and antioxidants, I love a product that offers multiple benefits.” A good skincare routine will not only unlock brighter and dewier skin but will also enhance your makeup. “I find once you get your base right you’ll get a smoother foundation application and better coverage,” adds Thomas.
